Kids’ dance + sensory classes at gullivers

The Gullivers Wellness Yurt is home to all kinds of weekly wellbeing classes and retreats. Every Thursday and Saturday morning, Lizzy from Dorset Creative Dance, runs dance and sensory classes for children from birth to 5 years. Read more about her approach.

Here’s a quick guide to the Dorset Creative Dance classes on offer at Gullivers this year.

Thursday dance + sensory classes at Gullivers

Creative Baby classes
(from birth to sitting)

Thursdays 10.30am until 11.15am

Suitable: From birth to sitting

Creative Baby classes involve baby massage, tummy time, props, play, music and, most importantly, cuddles!

Creative Baby classes
(6 months to walking)

Thursdays 11.30am until 12.15pm

Suitable: From 6 months to walking

Creative Baby sessions include baby massage, props, music, play, movement, multi-sensory experiences and, of course, cuddles!

Creative Dance classes

Thursdays 9.30am until 10.15am

Suitable: From 1-3 years

Creative Dance classes encourage creativity by using a blend of movement, music, props, rhythm and play. Dorset Creative Dance classes are multi-sensory environments where babies and toddlers can explore movement and dance with their whole bodies and all their senses.

 

Saturday dance + sensory classes at Gullivers

Creative Ballet classes

Saturdays 9.50am – 10.20am

Suitable: For ages 2.5 years up to 5 years

Creative Ballet classes are fun sessions where we introduce the children to the principles of ballet through games, music and rhythm. Our classes combine the perfect amount of technique and artistic expression.

Creative Minis

Saturdays 10.25am – 11.10am

Suitable: For 1-3 year olds

 Creative Minis classes use movement and dance, music, props and play to inspire mini imaginations. Creative Minis classes are fun, helping little ones develop a wide range of social and practical skills, including balance, coordination and mobility.

Creative Acro

Saturdays 11.15am – 12pm

Suitable: For 4+ years

Creative Acro classes are a blend of dance and acrobatics. Acro dancers seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements. Creative Acro classes feature techniques based in flexibility, contortion and strength, such as balancing, limbering, tumbling, partnering.
